5 Ways We Travelled To Venice For Cheap| Budget Travel

How We Travelled To Venice For Cheap

Hello My Lovies! I hope everyone is having a great week or weekend! Now It's finally here I have had a few people asking for this post! quick I am super happy that people are asking! Thank you guys! Today's posts is going to be my whole holiday cost for Venice and It was cheap (I believe). I really Hope you guys enjoyed.

So I said it before and I will say it again, staying at the airport is sometimes soooooooooo much cheaper! That's what we did for Amsterdam and this is what we did for Venice. We looked at hotels in Venice centre but it was coming up as over £400 for both of us and yeah that's still kinda cheap but we didn't want to pay this. we only paid £100 each for our two nights stay with breakfast. This trips we stayed in a B&B and it was an amazing experience. We have never stayed in a B&B Before and I would 100% recommend it. I shall link before where we stayed before it was super cheap and the guy who runs it is so helpful. So we paid £100 each for two nights and I personally think that is such a great price, this also included our breakfast. Also because it was super close to the Airport you could walk to and from the airport saving money on transfer.

Cost £100 Each

So this was super scary for me because I hate bus's, I'm okay with coaches but bus's and too many people i'm very anxious. so I am just going to put this out there the bus is a very cheap options at only 1 euro 50 cents there and 8 euros back but oh my never again. The bus is packed full! like what you see in the japan videos of them pushing people into the train. Yup not joking! we did it on day one and the next days we got a coach and I will talk about the coach next. So bus is super cheap and it doesn't talk that long to get into Venice so if you don't mind being crushed for 20 mins this is a super cheap options.

cost both ways - 9.50 Euros Each

So this options is a little more but not to much. We paid £14 each for travel to and from Venice Airport to the centre. I think this is a bargain price! I liked this option better. You get your own seat and its so much more comfortable and still a cheap way to get into Venice. It took the same time around 20 mins to get into Venice and they run till late.

Coast - £14 Each

So food and drink we found was very cheap if you know where to look. If you go right into the centre where everyone is of course it's going to be expensive but if you walk out the way you will find little cafes and shops that are good prices. we found this little restaurant on the seconds day and for a pizza (shared) drinks it came to around 10 Euros. The pizza's out there are big so for me and my husband we just brought one pizza and shared it, this saved us a lot of money. I found the Ice cream in Venice wasn't to bad of a price from around 1 Euro 50 for a massive scoop. We took 100 Euros for the three days tips and we found this to be fine for food travel and a gift. The last days we had around 30 -40 Euros lefts and just went all out on food and drink as we didn't want to bring money back. I honestly didn't find it to expensive to eat and drink in Venice.

Coast around 30 Euros each

Now I have already done a blog post about the flights to Venice because they where so cheap - click here to see that. So the flights to Venice in total costs us £59 each. I mean I love a cheap flights.

Cost - £59 Each

So the total coast for everything - £232.50 Each

Total cost of fun - Priceless

I really hope you enjoyed this post

  5. What a great way to see Venice and not feel like you're blowing your budget for the entire year! I've stayed in B&Bs before in America and I really do like them. I prefer the ones where the host or hostess is not visible except at breakfast, though. I totally agree with you about the crowded buses. My husband and I took a bus from downtown Dallas to the stockyards in Ft. Worth one time. It's public transit and we just wanted to see if it was really that convenient. I didn't love it and we had to walk quite a ways to get from the bus to our end point (but too short to rent a car and there wasn't Uber back then). Thanks so much for sharing your tips!

  15. Very useful tips. I had no idea Venice was so expensive. When I go to Paris I generally stay in an Air B-N-B and pay about $80/night. Though Air B-N-B has it's drawbacks. But even the hotels are not that expensive though I guess it depends what you like.

  18. Wow, that's nice how you managed to travel inexpensivly to Venice. The last time I was there I made the mistake to go to a very expensive restaurant that had very bad food. So it wasn't woth the money and we weren't satisfied. Next time I should plan ahead, just like you. :)

  37. Yes, we have to pay attention to what we spend our money on. Saving money by buying not expensive things during our travels, allows us to travel even more. We can also get to know the locals, by visiting their small restaurants, talking to them.
    Have a nice day!

  48. Great tip to stay outside the city and take the bus in. We tend to not eat a full dinner when traveling. It saves a lot of money and it is more fun to go to a bar to have a drink and a small plate.
