Hello My Lovelies I hope you all having a great week of weekend. Today's post is exciting because its about savings money on a trip and its about how you can afford to travel to Iceland. The best place I have been so far. I am going yo tell you in this post how me and my husband managed to fly stay and travel round most of Iceland for under £1,000 and we had money left over.
The flights and hotel we got super cheap. Much cheaper than what we thought we was going to get them for. We booked our flights and hotel with Easy Jet and it only cost £650. This included 4 nights stay at the Radission Blu saga flights and 23kg of luggges and we paid to choice where we sat on the plane. Now this is a pretty good deal I feel as so people I was speaking yo before we book we telling us pricing over £1000 just for the flight and hotel. We did fly over Christmas so pricing was a littler higher than if you go say in May. I have looked at pricing in May for Easy jet and the same deal is £500 for two people. (I really wanted to book but I stopped myself)

So we also renting a car and we knew this would save us so much money on trips out with other companies and we knew that if we had our own Car we can do things at our own pace. The car hire was £200 and this was only because we wanted a 4x4 you could of got a standard car for much less and if I an Honestly we could have got away with having a normal car. The car company we would bit recommend so I won't be sharing who we went with. We did feel a little ripped off by the car we got. It didn't ruin our trips tho.
So people was telling us to take over £1,000 in spending money and we thought this was a little to much so we didn't listen. I am glad we didn't listen because we didn't need it. We took £300 and only spend £150. Now we only spend so little because everything was paid for. We paid for the blue lagoon before we went and our hotel had bed and breakfast so we only had go buy lunch and dinner. For lunch we had PIC NICs as we was out exploring every day. You could go to the super market near the hotel and this costs nothing I think we spend just under £30 for lunches for the 4 days we was there. You Don't need to have lunch out every day. Also for dinner there was a pizza hut down the road from us and yeah I'm sorry to say we had pizza hut for dinner every night.. It was lush! One night we drove to see the north an lights and ate pizza while watching it was just perfect. So the pizza was super cheap also and we spend around £60 to £80 for the nights we was there. Bargain!!
Now because we had a car I think personally we was able to see more places around Iceland. With tours I find that they spend to much time in one place so you Don't get to see much. Honestly its great if you can't drive or Don't mind it. But for me and my husband we like having our own car and doing things at our own pace. Driving over there is super easy and if you have a sat nav or just your phone you are good to go. We planned before we went where we wanted to go to and what days so we could pack as much as we good in every day .
I shall list below the places we went to and all we paid was the petrol and petrol I found wasn't to bad - We paid around £100 to £150 for petrol for the whole trip.
- Blue Lagoon -
- Hallgrimskirkja -
- Þingvellir
- Gullfoss
- Geysir
